Now, the girls told you this last week but they haven't had any suggestions! If you have any suggestions you want to give them such as songs, book you want us to read, jokes ,fun things you have done in class or just something cool you want everyone else to hear about, then write it on a piece of paper with your name and room number on it, and put it in thier box in the library and they might be able to put it on the radio!  This is your chance to have a say for what goes on the radio, because it is Halswell school radio, which means everyone can be involved!!!!!

Make sure you give some suggestions!

At the moment weet-bix is running a promotion by putting rugby cards inside each pack. At the moment we are in 11th place. With 3120 points recorded. That's 312 cards you guys have put forward so thanks heaps but we want to push up the ranks to the top 10, which would mean more sports gear. If you don't want your cards please leave them in the office so that they can be logged on and submitted for the school. If you want to keep your cards you can either support the school by registering them online at www.weetbix.co.nz or hand your cards to Finlay, Matt or Matthew and they will write down the code and give the card back to you. Good work guys and keep handing those cards in!!

News from the boys

Here is some news from Finlay Matt and Matthew

Hagley sports final round was held. The football A’s won 3-0 over Middleton Grange, coming 3rd in their division. The football B‘s won 7-0 against Emmanuel winning their division! The rugby team lost 73-35 to St Josephs Pap Gold, coming 2nd in their grade. The netball A's won 27-23 against Middleton finishing 5th in their grade, the netball B's won 8-7 against Yaldhurst placing 3rd in their division. The hockey A's had a bye, therefore coming 2nd in their division.

Hi everyone,
Sadly GAB3 have not received any entries for their imagination creation competition, But....
they have a new awesome competition called,
GAB3 flower power competition!!!!!!!!!!
Here is how you enter:
Pick up your entry sheet from the foyer in the library next to the competition box then all you have to do is draw and colour your favourite flower. then you fill in all the details and put it in the foyer of our library by the 23rd of September. good luck to everyone who is entering!

GAB3 Competition

Hey guys it's Laura and Michaela with a competition for GAB3!!! LOL moments-
On a piece of paper write down your own LOL moments or confessions with your room number, name and age and place it in the GAB3 box in the library foyer, the girls will share some of their favourites next week on the radio! The winners will receive a prize (NOTE: you must write down your name to receive a prize, but if you don't want your name to be on the radio just write down I WOULD NOT LIKE MY NAME REVEALED on the piece and they will do as you wish, also you could put anonymous but you have to understand you will not win a prize). This competition is never ending, but the sooner you enter, the more likely you will get a prize.

Good luck to everyone that enters and I can't wait to hear your LOL moments on the radio!

ALYSSA, ASHLEIGH and LEAH Competition winners

CLEAN GREEN CHALLENGE!!

This year on the radio the girls have been running a clean green challenge. All of the classrooms were judged by saving power, like turning the lights off and the heat pumps when no-ones in the room. The points were also judged on what is in you rubbish and recycling bins, the score was out of 4. The girls have inspected every ones class room. The class with a perfect score of 4/4 is.............. ROOM 15! Well done guys. They have also looked at the grounds and play areas, to see if  there was rubbish in the area or if the gear had been left out. The runners up of the grounds is........ the year 7/8's. The winner with perfect ground,  accept for a packet of Bluebird Twisty chips left underneath the table is.......... The year 3/4!!!! Congratulations and keep up the hard work!!
